About Us

Fluoryx Inc. was founded in 2009 by our president, Dr. David Offord.  Dr. Offord obtained his B.S. in chemistry from Bethany College and his Ph.D. in organic chemistry from Stanford University. He has authored ten publications in peer-reviewed scientific journals, and holds more than 20 patents worldwide.

Dr. Offord brings with him broad chemical research experience.  At Oak Ridge National Lab, he studied an enzyme involved in the conversion of biomass into the fuel ethanol.

At Case Western University and Stanford University, he studied the process of self-assembly of molecules on glass and gold surfaces.

At AmCell Corp. (now Miltenyi Biotech), he synthesized and studied antibody-coated magnetic nanoparticles for stem cell purification.

At Alnis Biosciences, he studied methods for synthesizing artificial antibodies and super enzymes for medical and industrial applications.

Dr. Offord previously co-founded Nano-Tex, Inc. in 1998 revolutionizing the textile apparel industry using nanotechnology. Nano-Tex attaches nanostructures to the surfaces of ordinary fabrics to achieve remarkable effects that are beneficial to the wearer.  Today, Nano-Tex sells and brands several textile products including water and oil repellent fabrics.  For this product, Dr. Offord was awarded the AATCC Millson Award for Invention in 2006.

• R&D, pilot scale, and commercial scale fluorochemical production
 

Fluoryx Mission:

• To develop downstream, high-value fluorochemical products utilizing China’s large reserves of high quality Fluorspar (CaF2)
• Concentrate on building actual fluorochemical production, not just R&D.
